Nigerians and Ugandans in the coming days will enjoy a direct flight connectivity form Lagos to Entebbe.
This is coming following the Federal government signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority in Kampala.
The Uganda Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odongo Jeje commended  Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika and his delegation for the excellent and historic fraternal relations that exist between Uganda and Nigeria.
He noted that the relations have continued to progress from strength to strength.
He said: “As part of efforts to facilitate direct air connectivity between the two countries, this Bilateral air service agreement provides for reciprocal international commercial air transport services between the two countries.”
On his part, Sirika said: “Following the successful deliberations with Ministry of Works and Transport and Uganda Civil Aviation Authority an MoU was concluded and signed. This paves way for the commencement of direct flights from Entebbe to Lagos
“Abuja is been reviewed and included as an additional route to the existing BASA with Nigeria. The current BASA had initially only designated the Lagos route for Uganda Airlines.
“The aviation ministry will provide the necessary political leadership that will facilitate the implementation of the Agreements reached during the meeting.”
